How much Spending money will I need?
Every supported holiday is a little different. Around two weeks before your holiday begins, we’ll send you a full itinerary
with all the details, so you’ll know exactly what’s included so you can then make sure you have spending money for
souvenirs and keep-sakes and Treats at local cafes or gift shops or a sneaky Ice Cream!
What happens if I need to return home due to illness?
We will organise and escort you home if required. However these costs will be met by you. Your insurance must be valid
to ensure you can meet those extra costs.
What should I do with my medication – and what if I run out during the holiday?
Please bring all the medication you’ll need for the duration of your holiday, clearly labelled and in its original packaging.
If you take regular medication, we recommend packing a little extra, just in case of delays or changes. If you do run out or misplace your medication, our staff will support you in contacting a local pharmacy or GP service where possible. We’ll do everything we can to help you stay safe and well (this could incur an extra charge)
Is Door to Door pickup available?
Yes, door to door transport can be arranged at an additional cost. Alternatively, we offer pick-ups from a central meeting point, which is accessible to all guests and included at no extra charge
Do I require holiday insurance?
Yes, all guests must have valid travel insurance to join our supported holidays. Your policy should include cover for
cancellation, illness and loss of personal belongings.
Are your supported holidays suitable for adults with autism?
Yes many of our holidays are thoughtfully designed to support adults with autism. We offer gentle routines, friendly
staff and inclusive activities to help every guest feel relaxed, safe, and valued.
Can Carers or family members join the holiday too?
Yes, we warmly welcome carers and family members to come along. Please note, that all accompanying guests are
required to pay the full holiday price.
Can you give me any guidance on passports and visas?
Yes – if you’re travelling abroad, it’s important to check that your passport is valid for your travel dates and meets the
entry requirements for your destination. Some countries require at least 6 months of validity remaining from the end of
your holiday, so it’s best to renew early if needed. If you’re not a UK passport holder, then you may also need a visa. We recommend checking with the embassy or consulate of the country your visiting for the most up-to-date advice. For UK holidays, passports and visas are not usually required, but it’s always good to bring photo ID just in case
Who will look after me? And, are the staff trained
Yes- they absolutely are. Every member of our support team is DBS-checked and fully trained to provide safe,
compassionate care throughout your holiday. They are kind, attentive and ready to support you:

What is the support client ratio?
We provide just the right level of support for every traveller. Typically, there’s one support worker for every 3 to 4
guests, ensuring plenty of personal attention and care throughout your holiday. If you’d prefer one to one support, that can be arranged, just let us know in advance, we’ll tailor the experience to suit your needs with an additional payment. Whether you’re travelling solo or with friends, our team is here to make sure your holiday feels safe, supported and full of joy.
Will staff be there during the night?
Yes – you are never alone on your holiday. Our friendly support team is available 24 hours a day, every day, to make
sure you feel safe, supported and cared for throughout your stay. Your comfort and peace of mind matter to us – day and night
Can I have a room to myself?
All our holidays are priced based on shared twin rooms – perfect for making new friends or travelling with a companion.
But if you’d prefer a little extra privacy single rooms can be arrange for an additional cost (subject to availability)
May I participate in he supported holidays if I use a wheelchair.
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate wheelchair users on our holidays or short breaks.
I have limited verbal communication. Can staff communicate using sign language
Our team have basic knowledge of Makaton, a simplified form of sign and symbol communication. While we’re not
fluent in full sign language, we do our best to support guests with limited communication – and we’re always happy to
learn and adapt to your preferred style.
Are all the supported holidays abroad only accessible by flying?
Most of our overseas holidays do involve air travel, but we also offer exciting cruise options for guests who prefer not to
fly. If you have specific needs, we’re happy to help you with the holidays within our brochure.
How do I book a holiday with Socialising Buddies Breaks?
Booking is easy! Just get in touch with our team by phone, email, or through our website. We’ll guide you through the
options, help with any questions, and make sure everything feels smooth and stress free. If you need support with forms and communication, we’re happy to help – Just let us know what works best for you.
How will you know what needs I have?
We will ask you to complete a General Health form in To help us provide the best possible support during your holiday,
the general health form must be fully completed and accurately reflect your current needs and circumstances
If anything changes after the form has been submitted – but before your holiday begins – you must inform Socialising
Buddies Breaks in writing. This requirement applies to all holidays and short breaks.
How much luggage am I allowed to bring?
Luggage allowances can vary depending on the type of holiday and travel provider. For most supported holidays that
involve flying you’ll typically be allowed 1 x suitcase (20kgs – 23kgs) and 1 small cabin bag (for essentials and personal
items)
If you’re travelling by coach and cruise, allowances may differ slightly – but we will always let you know in advance. If
you need to bring disability equipment or extra items, some providers offer additional allowances. We’re happy to
check your specific luggage limits and offer packing tips if needed.
Will staff take photos during the holiday?
Yes – Our team loves capturing joyful moments throughout the trip. At the end of your holiday, we’ll send you a photo
album, completely free of charge so you can relive the memories of your holiday with friends and family.
